Huntsville Hospital Health System is governed by the Health Care Authority of the City of Huntsville and the eighth largest publicly owned hospital system in the nation. The system includes Huntsville Hospital, Huntsville Hospital for Women & Children, Madison Hospital, Athens-Limestone Hospital, Helen Keller Hospital, Red Bay Hospital, Decatur General Hospital, The Heart Center, Inc. of Huntsville and a multi-specialty physician network. Affiliate institutions represent more than 1,500 hospital beds and 9,000 employee in the region. Huntsville Hospital Laboratory Huntsville Hospital Laboratory is located in the Northwest Wing on the third floor of Huntsville Hospital. The main laboratory is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. A supervisor is always on duty and available for questions. Any testing not performed at Huntsville Hospital will be referred to Mayo Medical Laboratories.
